Australian Apprenticeships & Traineeships - Cash Incentives
Australian Apprenticeships Centres are contracted by the Australian Government to deliver Australian Apprenticeships Support Services at no cost to employers or Australian Apprentices. These services include providing information and assistance to employers, Australian Apprentices, and other interested people; marketing and promoting Australian Apprenticeships; and administering Australian Government incentive payments to employers and allowances to Australian Apprentices. 3CM works closely with an Australian Apprenticeship Centre, which have staff assigned to the 3CM partnership. This serves to guarantee a quick turn-around on eligibility checks. Outside of this, 3CM is able to provide an introduction to your local Australian Apprenticeships Centre and assist as required.
Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships - Cash Incentives Elgibility
Employees who have been working for your company for less than three (3) months full time with no prior qualifications attract employer incentives.
|Brief Outline of Elgibility Criteria|
|The trainee needs to be signed on a training contract within their first 3 months of fulltime employment.|
|Ideally the trainee will have NO prior qualifications (Certificate III, IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor Degree etc.)|
|If the trainee has completed a Certificate IV or lower the qualification needs to be over 7 years old for the employer to be eligible for cash incentives.|
|If the trainee has completed a Diploma level qualification or above it eliminates all cash incentives NO matter how old the qualification is.|
|If the trainee is currently being signed into a diploma or higher, this will cancel out all cash incentives too. No diploma or above are eligible for cash incentives.|
|IMPORTANT NOTE - PAYROLL TAX WILL ALWAYS BE EXEMPT FOR THE DURATION OF THE TRAINEESHIP NO MATTER THE CASH INCENTIVE ELIGIBILTY.|
Employer Cash Incentives
The objective of the Australian Apprenticeships Incentives Program is to develop a more skilled Australian workforce, one that is able to deliver long-term benefits to the nation and ensure our international competitiveness. This is achieved through encouraging employers to create opportunities for the skills-based training of employees, via provision by the Australian Government of financial incentives to businesses that employ and train an apprentice or trainee.
Under the Australian Apprenticeships Incentives Program, employers of eligible Australian Apprentices at Certificate III and IV. However, the Diploma and higher level qualifications will require confirmation from time to time.
The cash incentives available to the employer are $1,500 at the 6 month point and $2,500 at completion. Or $3000 at completion depending on eligibility. At the sign up appointment CCI can assess each contract and tell the employer exactly what he will be eligible for.
Eligibility for incentives under the Australian Apprenticeships Incentives Programme may be affected by the duration of the employment relationship you have with your current employee.
