Credit Transfer BSZ98 to TAE10 Upgrade Course

The TAE10 training package replaces TAA04 and the old BSZ98 Training Package for Assessment and Workplace Training, and has been implemented progressively under transition arrangements. This bridging course is designed to for training practitioners who need to update their BSZ40198 qualification.

It’s important to note that is NO ABILITY to directly upgrade from BSZ98 to TAE10.  There is only the opportunity to upgrade from the BSZ98 to TAA04. EQUIVALENCY can then be granted from the TAA04 to the TAE10 qualification. EQUIVALENCY cannot be granted from the BSZ98 to the TAE10 qualification. If you do not take advantage of this opportunity the rules say that students will be required to do the whole TAE10 qualification as from 18 June 2012.

Assessment Strategy

  • Upgrade from the BSZ98 to TAA04 units of competency

  • Equivalency can then be granted from TAA04 to TAE10

  • Direct observation

  • Workshop assessment tasks, workplace products, processes and documents

  • Self assessment

  • Knowledge evaluation questionnaires and third party validation

Important Note

When upgrading from BSZ98 to TAE10, students will be required to provide the following evidence, which will support this skill gap and their currency.

  1. Submit a certified copy of their qualification along with an academic transcript showing the units completed.
  2. Provide an up to date CV showing currency of training and assessing including professional development (with any supporting documentation of attendance) along with referees to confirm currency.
  3. A statutory declaration (call 3CM for a copy) to be signed and completed by a workplace supervisor for those using BSZ404 and BSZ407 to cover skill gap with TAEDEL402A Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace.

Students must either complete the following three units OR submit a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) application:

  1. TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs (core)
  2. TAEASS401A Plan assessment activities and processes – Develop Assessment Instruments – skills gap task (core)
  3. TAEASS403A Participate in assessment validation (core).

Learning Strategy

Transference of LearningStudents will take part in a highly interactive project forum, with group discussion and collaborative research for maximum impact and learning. The DiSC behavioural profiling is used in relation to strengths and challenges. This is followed up with 4 half day project forums for students to work on their projects and receive feedback from an Assessor. Projects are linked to the organisation’s strategic themes and core values, making them applied to real situations, rather than theory and textbook.
